HOTFLASH module

The HOTFLASH module allows you to display Hot Potatoes quizzes in a Flash
environment. It was designed to work together with the HOT POT module in Moodle. Not all of the Hot Potatoes functions are available in Flash.

1. Create a quiz using Hot Potatoes quiz software and save it. (Don’t export as a html file.)
2. Change the name of the hot potatoes quiz to ‘quiz.xml’.
3. Find the Flash file in the HOTFLASH folder that matches the type of quiz you created (jmatch.swf, jquiz.swf, jmix.swf, jcloze.swf, or jcross.swf)
4. Change the name of the Flash file (.swf file) to ‘quiz.swf’.
5. Use the HOTPOT module in Moodle to upload three files:

quiz.xml (this is the hot potatoes quiz file with a new file extension)
quiz.swf (this is included in the HOTFLASH folder)
quiz.htm (this is included in the HOTFLASH folder)

Choose quiz.htm as the file name for the HOTPOT quiz when you add a quiz using the HOTPOT module in moodle.

** Note you can change the file names but make sure that the .swf and .xml use the SAME file names. Also, if you change the file names, make sure you edit the .html file in 2 places to refer to the new file names.
